This song was written and recorded by the obscure old-time duo Harold and Hazel in 1933 for Bluebird Records in Chicago. Harold and Hazel were a vocal duet featuring vocals and guitar. “Wait For Me” is a love song–a request from one lover to another to be there for them at the end of the day. The version on this album features a duet between Tod and his wife Opal. The couple learned to sing it together while living and working on a sheep farm in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. They'd sing it to each other at the end of the day while making dinner and cleaning up dishes.
